Child Care Food Program Provider Requirements
Requirements and obligations of Child Care Providers on the Food Program:
Nutrition Education Training
Providers must attend at least one nutrition education training each fiscal year. There are several trainings offered throughout the county each year. Check here for a listing of upcoming trainings.
Monitoring Visits
Monitoring the Food Program is required three times per program year; October 1st – September 30th.
- The three required yearly visits will be unannounced.
- At least once of the three required yearly visits must be during a meal service so that meals claimed for reimbursement can be observed. Providers must notify CCFP staff if they will not be home during scheduled meal times by calling 461-2904 and leaving a message.
During these monitoring visits, the Sponsor representative of the Child Care Food Program will:
- Record all observations and recommendations on a DCH Site Monitor Report
- Check meal attendance and menus to be sure that records are up to date and attendance is kept on a daily basis
- Check attendance by comparing the full names and ages of the children present to the attendance forms
- Check for license capacity compliance – providers operating over capacity will be reported to the Department of Social Services (DSS)
