FRRC Premier Events
2008 Snow Storm Event
In the early morning hours of January 21, Mr. Trucker sent their trucks up to the mountains to bring back 10 truckloads of snow for the children to play in. Due to the weather, however, the trucks were unable to get up the hill. The roads were closed.
Despite the lack of snow, families had a wonderful time taking part in the numerous activities planned for them by the community organizations involved in this annual event. Initially developed by FRRC in 1996 as a project for its AmeriCorps members, Snow Storm has grown to become a flourishing event over the years.
Admission was the donation of a canned food item or a gently-used coat, which were given to the Greater Stockton Emergency Food Bank.
FRRC especially wishes to thank Mr. Trucker for their valiant efforts to reach the snow. It was unfortunate Mother Nature didn't cooperate!
