Family Resource and Referral Center (FRRC) employee responsibilities include becoming familiar with all programs operated by FRRC.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • The Director of Development is a member of the Executive Management team and is responsible for resource development to support agency programs and services.
  • Works with staff and Board Members to evaluate resource needs and identifies potential funding sources. Develops fund development plans.
  • In collaboration with Executive Director, management team and Board members, develops and directs a comprehensive fundraising strategy for the agency.
  • Establishes goals and strategies to meet targets established in the annual fund development plan.
  • Conducts individual donor campaigns and other fund-raising initiatives.
  • Organizes and manages responses to funding opportunities through coordination of relevant staff, departments, and outside collaborators.
  • Develops and writes grant proposals.
  • Conducts overall evaluation of effectiveness of fundraising activities and makes recommendations.
  • Supervises the Public Relations/Marketing Manager to integrate communications and public relations activities with resource development.
  • Plans and implements public relations and marketing activities with Public Relations/Marketing Manager to increase fundraising and agency visibility.
  • Ensures timely reports, renewal proposals, correspondence, and other communications with funding agencies.
  • Develops and maintains fundraising database to track donors, prospects and contacts. Coordinate fundraising database with communication databases.
  • Designs and manages cultivation of donors, gift processing and acknowledgement.
  • Maintains accurate and useful records of development activities.
  • Makes public presentations as deemed necessary to support development work.
  • Attends management meetings, participates on Board committees as needed, and participate as an active member of the Executive management team.

  • Bachelors degree required (Masters preferred).
  • Minimum 3 years diversified fundraising and development experience.
  • Significant successful grant proposal writing experience.
  • Contracts/grants management and budgeting experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity working with computer databases and Internet.
  • Demonstrated initiative, creativity and resourcefulness.
  • Self-starter with good organizational skills and excellent management skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with diverse groups of people.
  • Enthusiasm and a high degree of professionalism and integrity.
  • Prefer 2 years non-profit development experience and knowledge of early childhood education/child care.
  • Experience working with Board of Directors preferred.
  • CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive) certification is preferable.
